Looters in Houston Steal From Stores During Floods (Video)

As Houston floods due to the hurricane, a few people are taking the opportunity to loot.

About 4 people have been arrested so far. Security footage shows people looting an empty store that was closed because of the flooding.

Another video posted to Twitter shows a few people looting flat-screen TVs from an electronics store. Others emerge from shattered glass doors, arms full of things from a Family Dollar store.

However, the looting seems minimal compared to other events throughout the last several decades in America. In Houston, everyone is allowed to own guns. There is a culture in Houston that is very unfriendly to looters, robbery, home invasions, ect: people don’t do that nearly as much in Texas because everyone is armed.

At the same time, Blue Lives Matter is trying to exploit the small amount of looting that has taken place to push the usual propaganda that people need the state and the police, and that it’s a dangerous world without authority.

Perhaps the best response to that fallacy is the fact that the Cajun Navy and other activist groups are already helping people more than FEMA or any other government entity.

According to Heavy:

“Jon Bridgers, the founder of the Cajun Navy 2016, told the Houston Chronicle that one group of volunteers attempting to rescue victims from the life-threatening floods almost had their boat stolen while another was shot at when it didn’t respond to a stranded group requesting assistance.

“It wasn’t a surprise because we had some of the same things happen in the past,” Bridgers said to the publication. “You got a very limited number of people out there who would do something like that. We were hoping that it wouldn’t happen, but it did.”

The Cajun Navy was organized by Bridgers and has been coordinating thousands of volunteers to assist victims of the Category 4 storm.”

Photos like this are going viral because people are happy to see other people care, and that’s an incredibly positive thing.

This time, people helping people will put both government and looters to shame.
